Go with Exploration

This image, while gorgeous to some, is too gaudy for others. It’s a reminder of how we all respond differently to so many things.

It offers an opportunity to ponder … “is this really art?”

It also offers an opportunity to look inward and explore what I value and what I may be ready to discard. READY … SET … GO … with the exploration!

Changes in Perception

Funny how your perception changes when you are not feeling well. A herniated disc in my cervical spine has hijacked my ability to think about anything else but my neck, shoulder and arm. They are the blockade of weeds blocking my vision. A cold can put you down for about a week so you wait it out sleeping a lot, canceling plans, and before you know it, you are back to your old self. But this physical breakdown blurs my future plans for a trip in May, hosting a holiday dinner, and going after a new client. The pain forces me to bring my full focus on now, on the present, on what is right in front of me.

When will the hazy landscape so far in the distance show its full colors and shape?

What is the gift of fully seeing what is in front of me?

New Beginnings

Our JICT team of Jane, Carol and Irene is about to move into very new territory as we learn how to present webinars to demonstrate how to use our 72 JICT Images.  We feel a bit like the newly hatched baby chicks in this nest high up in the tree.  The project of offering these images to the world has been a constant reaching beyond our comfort  zone, just as the birds will have to take quite a leap into thin air and hope they can fly from this tree perched up in the sky.  It all comes down to practice, practice, practice.  But how do those little chicks practice?

Bring in Some Creativity

In preparing for certification, one of my weaknesses was in Establishing the Coaching Agreement.  I needed to improve the way I helping the client establish the goals for our session.

What DID she want and or need to walk away with from our hour of coaching?

Since then, I am very thoughtful about how I set the stage for my coaching session.  To keep it interesting, sometimes I invite my client to look at the six images displayed as Presentation Images on our website http://www.jictimages.com/p/presentation-gallery.html.

One client selected this image and said she wanted to be able to look at her relationship with her supervisor from a different perspective.  This process gave me her outcome, provided a metaphor for launching questions, and a ‘place’ to cycle back to through the call.

All you and your client need is a computer to bring some spice and creativity to your next coaching session.

Break the Cycle

How does the moon’s cycle relate to you right now? A powerful question as we move from winter to spring and the blossoming of new growth.

I was working with a high school student recently who realized that a constant cycle of ideas was preventing him from moving forward.

His desire to have an impact in the world and his high value on how new ideas inspire innovation that would allow him to have that impact put him into a cycle that was in the way of his performance in school. Once he found a way to capture the ideas so as not to forget them, he was free to take actions to be current with school work and improve attendance and grades.

My how a simple image of the moon in its brilliance allowed him to be free of behavior that was in his way!

While on the surface the ideas seemed crucial to his desire to have an impact; once he recognized that they were actually in his way, he was able to function a different way. Breaking the cycle was key for him; what cycle would you benefit from breaking?

Girl and Hand

Transformational Testimonial

I worked with a client who wanted to release some guilt she felt when recalling how she had mothered her daughter at a young age. My metaphor was this image of offering my hand to help her up from the tunnel of guilt and into the sunshine.

She shared a metaphor of a cloak wrapped around her as her guilt. During our session, she was able to drop the cloak until it lay around her feet and left with homework of visualizing where she wanted the cloak to be.

At the next session I again offered ”my hand” and asked if she was ready to throw the cloak of guilt out the door. She taught me a wonderful lesson… “No,” she said. “I’ve decided to throw it into the corner. I’m keeping it around because sometimes I like to spend an evening wrapped up in it.”

My client did not want my hand to step completely out of her tunnel, she wanted to do this in her own way… a way that would best serve her. What I have learned from using these images with myself and with others is that each of us see/feel very different things in each one and even each time we use them. To me, this is magic… the magic of spring.

April 15th

How do you view April 15th?  Which of these images would you choose?

One feels so heavy and burdensome.  It is like being anchored to your desk organizing papers, filling in numbers, searching for stuff you doubt you will find, and wishing you had started earlier just like you vowed to last year at this time.

OR you might have this behind you with a lovely little refund on the way.

The pier at dusk is calm, peaceful, like you have all the time in the world to contemplate life.  Hopefully, you get to choose the pier!

Footprints in Snow

 On the Journey

Sometimes spring seems far away as that last snow or the spring wind and rain visit us once more. The same thing sometimes happens as we begin to let our ideas out into the world. We sometimes grumble as we dig out that coat and scarf once more… or find a stumbling block with our new idea that causes us to back up and do some seemingly tedious work on it, one more time.

I wonder if like the moisture from the snow or rain, taking on the mundane and not so fun part of our idea is really providing the little bit of extra nourishment that the idea needs at this time? What is approaching you around your idea in this moment?

Coat of Armor

How do the ways you protect yourself interfere with blossoming? I recently had a conversation with a business associate who shared some pretty personal information and captioned it with the fact that he is a very private person and only shares about himself with a select few. Of course, I was honored and also curious. I was honored by his trust and curious about how protecting himself this way supports him.

I invited him to choose an image … the image of the lizard led him to an epiphany regarding how opening up would serve him to grow his business. What he realized was that he had built an armor to protect himself from harm; the need for protection was related to being deceived and hurt (financially and emotionally) by a former business associate.

This epiphany led him to acknowledge that protecting himself from the actions of a single individual several years ago was hampering him from creating business relationships that would support him now. The heavy coat of armor he had built as protection from that single experience was in the way of trusting relationships with many people in his life.

Where in your life has a coat of armor become so strong that it interferes with your growth or dims the blossoming that could be?

Collaboration All Around

This image coupled with an article I read in the Wall Street Journal earlier this year promoted me to imagine the world with more support, collaboration and connection. I think as more folks become knowledgeable and aware of the power of feminine energy, we will see more interactions that include outreached vs. crossed arms, sharing of ideas vs. protecting secrets and hugs vs. snubs.

Collaboration is becoming a more viable way of doing business - THANKFULLY. Support advances all efforts and generates more abundance. Isn’t that what we really want? OR are there some out there who want to see others defeated? Who yearn for watching businesses fail and entrepreneurs not succeed? In actuality, there is really ENOUGH for everyone and when we all use out gifts to their greatest good, we all succeed. Success for all is my dream!

Swan and Chicks

Image This!

Ahhh spring!

Has it arrived in your neighborhood, yet?
More importantly has it arrived in your heart?
What are you nurturing that is ready to be born?

“Incubation time” is what I like to call that period when we are dreaming, planning, and holding an idea close within us. There does come a moment when we realize that the idea needs to be birthed or it just may shrivel up and die for lack of nourishment or from just plain not being allowed to be free. The season has arrived, so what are you going to permit to take flight from within you and allow to be all it can be?

Use JICT Images to go deeper into just what this might mean for you as you welcome the spring of your winter dreams.

Wreck in Life

What could you salvage from a wreck in your life? A client was drawn to this image because she felt her life was “self destructing”! Personally, she had an issue surfacing that was unpleasant and caused turmoil among family members. Professionally, she was holding fear of a colleague … self imposed intimidation born out of a long term non-communicative relationship. The image inspired her to name all that, identify possibilities and make choices that served her.

Where is there a wreck in your life? What would you like to salvage? What are the possibilities that will support you to create the reality you desire? Knowing the possibilities will allow you to choose the value in “repairing” the truck, what “repairs” to make and how to “back the truck up”!

PS. My client choose to address the fear she held, initiated a conversation with the “feared” colleague, learned that what she was holding as “truth” was merely an assessment. The bottom line is that her “feared” colleague became a source of client referrals to her. Possibilities
We invite you to share your creative ideas...guided by your intuition...leading to transformation in the use of images with groups and individuals.
