Different Responses

In a graduate course, my colleague teaches coaching skills to educators at a local university. She invited me share my coaching expertise with the group as a guest speaker. I asked each person to blindly choose an image, reflect and respond to this question: “How does this image reflect how you will do your work (in education) differently now that you have an awareness of and have begun to build your coaching skills?”

One person had chosen this image and shared that this reminded her that she wants to be aware that each student has unique “bars” that can interfere with learning. She will support students to identify the “bars” that get in the way and assist them to remove them.

Notice the same image evoked very different responses from different people about different topics … an image speaks to each person differently, to the same person differently at a different time and in a different setting.

What does this image say to you at this very moment?
