Vulnerability Is

At the recent Newfield conference, Charles Feltman began a session on Trust by posing … Vulnerability is ________ …

As people spoke this image struck me as reflecting most possibilities shared. Vulnerability is open (and closed), complex (and simple), strong (and weak) painful (and comforting) and the list can go on. Vulnerability is what opens us to experiences; without allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, we stay in our shell. Where do you show up fully vulnerable?

Charles followed this by asking that we complete this sentence. Vulnerability feels like ___________ ...

Responses ranged from painful to hurtful to stabbing and then moved to safe, open and secure. When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we open to each other’s hearts so that we can fully experience and receive. Where would it serve you to FEEL more vulnerable?
